Having caused quite a stir with his previous release Flagsuckers, 10 Rapid is back with a filthy banger...
Yep in our humble opinion, Mr Rapid has gone and done it again with this electro-techno mash up, starring a top notch blend of blips, breaks and disgusting basslines. With his signature sound of big thrashy synths and crazy production techniques, the Rapid one already counts Groove Armada, Cagedbaby, James Zabiela and the Plump DJ’s as fully paid-up members of his ever growing supporters club.
Not Right kicks off deep in the electronic jungle where the natives have a war chant thing going on. Then there’s the attack of the killer bees - yes really - warning sirens going off all over the shop and much much more besides. All underpinned by an insistently crunchy beat. Love it or not you can’t ignore it. Mixdown 100 takes a different route offering something a tadge more stripped down, but only just a little bit. We’ve lost the killer bees. Now there’s a bunch of football hooligans shouting the odds instead followed by a whole army of electronic termites drilling down deep into your skull.
Complementing the 10 Rapid mixes perfectly are two stunning versions from the We Love the Disco Sound squad aka the Streetlife DJ’s. Signed to the achingly hip Kitsune, the Streetlifers have put the track through the blender. The end result that is so OTT it should probably have a government health warning attached!
And if that’s not enough there’s plenty more action going down in Rapidworld, with recent remixes for Grum, Malente and Burn The Negative hitting the spot. Clearly there’s no such thing as a dull moment round at Castle Rapid.
