Blu Mar Ten have more than proved their ability to create diverse and captivating music, having received acclaim across the board for their previous work. Their releases for LTJ Bukem’s Good Looking Records made the guys synonymous with the atmospheric D&B sound of the late ‘90s. Elsewhere, their reworkings on tracks including Doc Scott’s classic ‘Shadowboxing’ have been damagng dance floors all over the globe. Casting their net wide has won them recognition from a diverse set of DJs such as Andy C, Fabio, Ben Watt, Mary Anne Hobbs, Erol Alkan and more.
The coming months will see the team dropping a new album project for exceptional, featuring layers of lush sounds and surprising interludes. This as yet untitled project will no doubt appeal to Blu Mar Ten’s long standing supporters and open their musical output up to a new generation of fans.
Black Water is the single first release, setting the standard for what is to be one of next year’s most interesting projects. The Crossed Wires Mix incorporates sharp breakbeats and deep bass, offering a timeless D&B sound that will undoubtedly move the dance floor. Meanwhile, the original version showcases Blu Mar Ten’s downbeat side, injecting all the energy that they’re known for across a wide range of musical genres. Swooping atmospherics and entrancing vocal and string samples paint an exotic, chilled-out aural picture.
